Volgograd International Airport, originally established in the 1930s and modernized with a rebuilt terminal in the 2010s, is a medium-sized regional gateway serving Volgograd and the Lower Volga region. The airport operates from one main passenger terminal with domestic and international sections, handling regular scheduled flights and seasonal charters. Located roughly 15 km from the city center, it’s well connected by buses, airport shuttles and taxis with easy road links to rail stations and regional highways. Fares tend to be affordable, especially on Russian low-cost carriers; regular operators include Aeroflot, S7, Pobeda, Ural Airlines and Rossiya.
