Uyuni

Uyuni’s regional airport is a compact, tourism-focused gateway to the Salar de Uyuni and surrounding highlands, originally opened in the mid-20th century and modernized with upgrades in the 2010s; it operates from a single small terminal and handles modest passenger volumes. The airport’s importance is local and seasonal, bringing visitors to Bolivia’s salt flats more than serving as a major hub, though it acts as a base for regional carrier Amaszonas and sees services from Boliviana de Aviación at peak times. Accessible by a roughly 20–40 minute taxi or shuttle ride from Uyuni town with occasional bus links, fares are generally affordable but can spike during high season.
