Ust‑Nera Airport, opened in the Soviet era around the 1960s, is a compact regional airfield serving the remote gold‑mining settlement of Ust‑Nera in Russia’s Sakha Republic. With a single modest terminal and a short runway, it’s an important local gateway for passengers, cargo and medical evacuations across northeastern Yakutia rather than a major international hub. The airport is connected to the town by a short access road with limited public transport—taxis and occasional buses—while most travelers connect via Yakutsk or other regional centers. Flights are operated by regional carriers (and charter operators), and fares can be higher than average due to limited service and harsh operating conditions.
