Tigil Airport (IATA: ТИГ) is a small regional airfield on the Tigil River in western Kamchatka, established during the Soviet era around the 1960s and featuring a single modest terminal. Serving primarily local communities and seasonal traffic, the airstrip is important for medical evacuations, supply runs and access to remote fishing settlements rather than as a major travel hub. Ground connections are limited—seasonal roads, boats and infrequent buses link the village to larger towns—while scheduled and charter regional flights provide the main access to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and nearby settlements. Not a base for major airlines, it’s served by occasional regional carriers and charters; fares tend to be higher than average because of scarce service and seasonal demand.
