As Umbria’s main gateway, this small but strategically placed airport serves Perugia and nearby Assisi, offering regular shuttle buses, taxis and car hire links to Perugia city center and rail connections at Perugia Fontivegge; regional buses connect onward to Florence and Rome. Popular with leisure and low-cost travelers, Sant Egidio is generally an affordable option — Ryanair and other seasonal carriers run several routes, though it is not a major hub.
