Sale Airport (Rabat–Salé Airport, IATA: RBA) first opened in the 1920s and today operates a single passenger terminal handling regional and international traffic for Morocco’s capital region. As a medium-sized airport serving Rabat and nearby Salé, it is an important gateway for government and business travelers as well as budget tourists hunting cheap flights to Morocco. The airport is about 8–10 km from central Rabat and is easily reached by taxis, shared shuttles and local buses, with Rabat’s main train stations a short drive away. RBA is served by Royal Air Maroc and several low-cost carriers (Ryanair, Air Arabia Maroc), and fares are generally considered budget-friendly compared with larger Moroccan hubs.
