Rurrenabaque Airport, established in the mid-20th century, is a small regional airstrip with a single modest terminal that acts as the main gateway to Bolivia’s Madidi National Park and pampas wildlife tours. Compact but important for ecotourism, it offers regular domestic connections — most commonly to La Paz — and is served by regional carriers such as Amaszonas and EcoJet rather than major international hubs. The airport sits just outside the town, a short taxi or shuttle ride from riverside boat departures, with basic public-transport options and shared vans available. Fares are generally budget-friendly on domestic routes, though prices can rise in peak season.
