Qingdao Jiaodong International

Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport opened in 2021 and features a single, modern passenger terminal designed to handle rapid growth as Qingdao’s main international gateway; it has become one of Shandong’s largest airports and a key transfer point for northeast China. The airport is well connected to downtown Qingdao by a direct metro link, dedicated airport expressways and frequent shuttle and taxi services, with further rail connections planned to expand regional access. Generally competitive on fares—especially for domestic routes—the airport hosts bases for Qingdao Airlines and significant regional operations by Shandong Airlines and China Eastern, making it a convenient hub for affordable flights to the region.
