Pulkovo Airport

Pulkovo Airport, originally opened in 1932 and rebuilt with a modern consolidated terminal in 2013, operates with roughly two main passenger terminals and serves as St. Petersburg’s primary international gateway. As one of Russia’s busiest airports handling millions of passengers annually, Pulkovo links domestic and European routes and is a key hub for Rossiya Airlines within the Aeroflot Group. The airport sits about 23 km south of central St. Petersburg and is well connected by regular buses, airport shuttles and taxis to Moskovskaya metro and the city center—there’s no direct rail link yet. Services and transfers are generally affordable, making Pulkovo a practical choice when hunting for cheap flights to St. Petersburg.
