Providenciales International Airport (PLS), opened in the 1960s, is the primary gateway to the Turks and Caicos Islands, featuring a single compact passenger terminal that handles most international and regional flights; recent upgrades have modernized facilities while keeping it easy to navigate. As the busiest airport in the islands it’s a mid-sized hub for tourism and a base for local carriers such as Caicos Express Airways and InterCaribbean Airways, with major U.S. airlines providing seasonal and year-round service. Ground access is straightforward—taxis, hotel shuttles and car rentals link PLS to Grace Bay and Provo resorts in about 15–25 minutes—prices on the island tend to be mid-range to slightly expensive for travelers.
