Prince Said Ibrahim Internatonal Airport

Prince Said Ibrahim International Airport, opened in the 1960s and located in Hahaya near Moroni, is Comoros’ main international gateway with a single small passenger terminal serving both regional and a handful of international flights. Compact but vital, the airport links the islands to East Africa, Réunion and occasional European services, and functions as the primary base for domestic and inter-island carriers as well as the nation’s flag operations. About 15–20 km from downtown Moroni, it’s reachable by taxi, shared minibus or private transfer; fares are generally affordable for short regional hops but can be higher on long-haul routes due to limited competition.
