Poronaisk

Poronaisk Airport is a small regional airfield on Sakhalin Island with roots in the Soviet era (opened mid-20th century) and operates from a single modest terminal and runway that handle mainly domestic services. Not a commercial hub, it plays an important local role connecting Poronaysk and surrounding coastal settlements via scheduled flights and occasional charters operated by regional Russian carriers. The airport sits a short drive from town—roughly 5–10 km—and is reachable by local bus, shared taxi or private car, though public links can be limited outside peak hours.
