Phuket International Airport

Phuket International Airport (HKT), first opened in the 1960s, is the main gateway to Thailand’s Andaman coast and one of the country’s busiest leisure airports, handling millions of visitors each year. The airport operates with two main terminals (separate international and domestic facilities) and a compact layout that’s easy to navigate. Located near Phuket Town, it’s well connected by taxis, shared minivans, regular airport buses and private transfers to Patong, Karon and surrounding resorts. HKT is a focus city for low-cost carriers such as Thai AirAsia, Nok Air and Thai Lion Air, so airfares are often affordable, though on-site dining and taxis can feel a bit pricey.
