Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE), established in the 1960s, is Belize’s main international gateway with one primary terminal featuring international and domestic sections, serving as a medium-sized regional airport for Central America and the Caribbean. Located in Ladyville about 10 miles (16 km) north of Belize City, BZE offers straightforward access by taxi, shuttle or rental car and easy onward connections to San Pedro and the Belize coast via short domestic flights and ferries. The airport is generally affordable compared with larger North American hubs, especially on local carriers, and serves as a base for domestic airlines such as Tropic Air and Maya Island Air.
