Pattimura Airport

Pattimura Airport in Ambon, the main gateway to Indonesia’s Maluku Islands, was established in the mid-20th century and today operates from a single compact terminal that handles mostly domestic traffic. As a regional-sized airport it’s the primary link between Ambon and major hubs such as Jakarta and Makassar, plus nearby islands, making it important for both tourism and local travel. The airport is a short drive from Ambon city center with taxis, minibuses and hotel shuttles providing regular connections; there’s no rail link. Flights are generally affordable thanks to budget carriers, and services are operated by airlines including Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, Wings Air, Citilink and Sriwijaya Air.
