Pai Airport

Pai Airport, established in the mid-20th century, is a compact regional airport in Mae Hong Son province with a single small terminal and a short runway that handles light domestic flights; it’s an important gateway for travelers bound for Pai’s hot springs, trekking and relaxed village atmosphere. The airport is a short taxi or scooter ride from Pai town and sits along the scenic mountain road connecting Pai with Chiang Mai (roughly 3–4 hours by car), with local minibuses and taxis providing easy transfers. There are no major carrier hubs here—service is by small regional operators—so ground costs are low but flights can be limited and occasionally pricier due to scarce competition.
