Nifty Airport

Nifty Airport, established in the 1980s to serve the Nifty copper mine in Western Australia’s Pilbara, is a small regional airfield with a single terminal and basic facilities focused on fly-in fly-out mining traffic. Though compact, it plays an important role connecting the mine to major centres, with regular charter flights and occasional regional services linking to Perth and nearby hubs; ground access is by company transfer vehicles and unsealed roads with limited public transport. Because most flights are charter or FIFO rotations, fares tend to be higher than average, and the airport functions as a base for mining charter carriers rather than a commercial airline hub.
