Narita International Airport

Opened in 1978, Narita International Airport is Tokyo’s principal long-haul gateway with three passenger terminals and a large cargo operation, handling tens of millions of travelers each year. Located in Narita, Chiba about 60 km east of central Tokyo, it offers fast public transport links including the Narita Express to Tokyo Station, Keisei Skyliner to Ueno, regular airport limousine buses and direct highway connections, making transfers to downtown Tokyo and nearby Narita City straightforward. Narita is an important international hub for carriers such as Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways and a base for low-cost airlines like Peach and Jetstar Japan; fares range from budget-friendly on LCCs to mid/high for full-service carriers, while onward ground transfer costs can be higher than Haneda.
