Narathiwat Airport

Narathiwat Airport, opened in the mid-1990s, is a compact regional airport serving Narathiwat province in southern Thailand with a single small passenger terminal and limited apron space. As the main gateway for southern Thailand’s far-flung townships and travelers crossing to nearby Malaysia, it handles primarily domestic connections—most commonly flights to Bangkok—making it important for local mobility rather than international traffic. The airport is roughly a 15–20 minute drive from Narathiwat town and is reachable by taxi, shared minivans and provincial buses, with car hire usually available. Fares tend to be affordable on domestic low-cost carriers; services are typically operated by airlines such as Nok Air and Thai AirAsia, while the airport functions as a regional base rather than a major hub.
