Myitkyina Airport

Myitkyina Airport, established during the 1940s wartime era, is the main regional airport serving Myitkyina and Kachin State in northern Myanmar. The compact facility operates from a single passenger terminal and handles primarily domestic flights, making it the key gateway for travelers heading to the Irrawaddy River region, nearby national parks and cultural sites. Ground access is simple—a short taxi or local bus ride from Myitkyina city center—though scheduled public-transport options are limited.
