Mosnov Airport

Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava (OSR), commonly known as Mosnov Airport, opened in 1959 and was renamed in 2006 to honor the composer; it operates from a single main passenger terminal and several cargo and general-aviation facilities. As the principal regional gateway for the Moravian–Silesian Region, OSR is a small-to-medium airport handling scheduled and seasonal European routes rather than long-haul traffic. Located roughly 20 km southwest of Ostrava city centre, the airport is reachable by regular airport shuttle buses, regional public-transport connections, taxis and a short drive, making it convenient for cross-border travellers. Generally considered budget-friendly, OSR hosts regular services from carriers such as Smartwings and a variety of seasonal low-cost airlines rather than serving as a large carrier hub, so it’s a popular pick when hunting for cheap flights to northeastern Czechia.
