Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL), originally opened as Dorval Airport in 1941 and renamed in 2004, is Quebec’s primary international gateway and Canada’s second-busiest airport, featuring one main passenger terminal with multiple concourses serving domestic, transborder and transatlantic routes. Located about 20 km west of downtown Montreal in Dorval, YUL is well connected by the 747 express airport bus, local commuter services and frequent shuttles, with a planned light-rail link to improve access. The airport is an Air Canada hub and a key base for Air Transat, offering generally moderate fares thanks to many international routes and low-cost options, though parking and on-site dining can be pricey.
