Momote Airport

Momote Airport (MAS), opened in the 1940s during the World War II era, is the compact regional gateway on Los Negros Island serving Manus Province and nearby Lorengau; it operates from a single small terminal and plays an important role for domestic links and cargo in Papua New Guinea. Despite its modest size, Momote provides scheduled connections to Port Moresby and other provincial destinations, with airport shuttles, taxis and short road transfers into Lorengau improving accessibility. Flights are primarily operated by Air Niugini and PNG Air, and fares tend to be higher than in larger hubs due to limited competition.
