Mokmer Airport

Mokmer Airport (BIK) on Biak Island, Papua, opened in the 1940s as a wartime airfield and today operates as a compact regional airport with a single terminal serving domestic routes. As the main gateway to Biak-Numfor and Cenderawasih Bay, Mokmer is important for local travel and tourism while remaining much smaller than Papua’s major hubs. It’s a short drive from Biak town with taxis and shared minivans linking to nearby ports and villages, and regular flights connect to Jayapura and other Indonesian cities.
