Moi International Airport, opened in 1979, is Mombasa’s main air gateway on Kenya’s coast with two passenger terminals serving domestic and international flights. As the country’s second-busiest airport, it’s a key hub for travelers heading to Mombasa, Diani and surrounding beach resorts, and it functions as a regional base for Kenya Airways and several local carriers like Jambojet and Safarilink. Located in Port Reitz about 10–15 km from the city center, the airport is well connected by taxi, shuttle buses and road links to the Mombasa–Nairobi corridor and nearby SGR and ferry services. Prices tend to be traveler-friendly thanks to budget and charter options, though on-site services can run mid-range in cost.
