Opened in 1949, Ministro Pistarini (Ezeiza) is Argentina’s largest international airport and the main long-haul gateway for Buenos Aires, featuring two main passenger terminals and extensive cargo facilities. Situated about 22 km southwest of the city center, Ezeiza is connected by the Ezeiza-Cañuelas highway with regular airport shuttle buses, long-distance coaches, taxis and remises (no direct rail link), making transfers to downtown typically 45–60 minutes depending on traffic. The airport is vital for international travel and acts as a long-haul hub for Aerolíneas Argentinas while hosting major carriers such as American Airlines, Iberia and LATAM; on-site prices can be mid-to-high, though budget ground-transport options keep trips affordable.
