Minangkabau International Airport (PDG), opened in 2005, is the main gateway to Padang and West Sumatra and operates a single passenger terminal with separate domestic and international concourses. This medium-sized international airport handles a mix of domestic and regional routes and is the convenient starting point for trips to Bukittinggi, the Mentawai Islands and Sumatran highlands.
