Menara Airport first opened in the mid-20th century (1940s) and today operates as a medium-sized international gateway to Marrakech and southern Morocco with two main passenger terminals handling both scheduled and seasonal traffic. The airport is the primary entry point for tourists visiting the Medina and Atlas Mountains, offering quick access to the city center by taxi or shuttle in about 10–20 minutes, plus regular public buses and car-rental services. Menara is well served by budget operators and charter airlines—making it generally an affordable arrival point for travelers—and hosts frequent services from carriers like easyJet, Ryanair and Royal Air Maroc on domestic and European routes.
