Mazatlán International Airport (MZT), dating back to the mid-20th century, is a compact yet busy gateway to Mexico’s Pacific resort city with two passenger terminals handling domestic and international services. As the region’s main airport it sees a mix of year-round domestic flights and heavy seasonal international traffic, making it an important point for travelers to and from Sinaloa. Airfares tend to be affordable—especially on low-cost carriers—and MZT acts as a focus city or base for Mexican budget airlines like Volaris and VivaAerobus, with regular services from Aeroméxico and seasonal routes from U.S. and Canadian carriers such as Alaska, American and WestJet.
