Manas International Airport opened in 1974 and is the largest gateway to Bishkek and northern Kyrgyzstan, operating from one main passenger terminal with separate cargo and smaller annex facilities. This mid-sized airport handles international and domestic flights and acts as the country’s primary aviation hub, serving local carriers such as Air Manas and Air Kyrgyzstan. Located roughly 25 km northwest of Bishkek, Manas is easily reached by shuttle buses, taxis and road transfers, with car hire available on-site for onward travel. Generally more affordable than major European hubs, it’s a practical choice for budget-conscious travelers flying to Kyrgyzstan.
