Accessibility is straightforward: short taxis or boda-boda rides reach Kilindoni and beach lodges, while ferries and charter boats connect the island to Dar es Salaam; scheduled flights run mainly from Dar es Salaam and nearby coastal towns. The airport is served by regional carriers such as Coastal Aviation, Auric Air and occasional Air Tanzania services; fares are often higher than mainland routes due to limited schedules, though budget options appear.
