La Aurora International Airport

La Aurora International Airport, opened in the 1940s, is Guatemala’s primary gateway and a medium-sized airport serving Guatemala City with one main passenger terminal split into domestic and international concourses. As the country’s busiest airport it handles regional and international traffic and acts as a hub for local carrier TAG and a key operating base for airlines like Avianca and Copa in the Central America network. Located just a short drive—roughly 6 km—south of the capital, it’s well connected by taxis, airport shuttles, public buses and the main highway, making city access straightforward.
