King Khaled International Airport

King Khalid International Airport (RUH), opened in 1983, is Riyadh’s primary international gateway featuring one main passenger terminal complex with several concourses plus dedicated cargo and royal facilities. As one of Saudi Arabia’s larger airports it handles significant domestic and international traffic and serves as a key hub for Saudia, with low-cost carriers flynas and flyadeal maintaining strong bases here. Located roughly 30–40 km north of central Riyadh, RUH is reached via a major expressway with taxis, ride-hailing and public buses available; longer-term rail links are planned. Fares are generally mid-range, with affordable options thanks to the busy low-cost market.
