Khon Kaen Airport

Khon Kaen Airport (KKC), opened in the 1960s, is a compact regional airport serving northeastern Thailand and the Isan city of Khon Kaen; it has one main passenger terminal and handles a steady mix of domestic flights connecting to Bangkok and other Thai cities. About a 10–20 minute drive from Khon Kaen city center and Khon Kaen University, the airport is well linked by taxis, shared songthaews, local buses and private shuttles, making it easy for students and festival visitors to reach city attractions. Facilities are modest but efficient, fares tend to be budget-friendly with carriers such as Thai AirAsia, Nok Air, Thai Lion Air and Thai Vietjet operating frequently, and while not a national hub it acts as an important regional base for low-cost domestic travel.
