Kelowna International Airport (IATA: YLW) opened in the 1940s and today operates from a single passenger terminal as the mid-sized gateway to British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. Handling regional and seasonal national traffic, YLW is the busiest airport in the Interior and connects Kelowna to Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and popular vacation destinations. The airport is about a 15-minute drive from downtown Kelowna and is served by regional buses, airport shuttles, taxis and multiple car-rental companies for easy access. Generally more affordable than major hubs for domestic travel—though summer demand can push fares higher—YLW sees frequent service from Air Canada, WestJet/WestJet Encore and low-cost carriers such as Flair and Swoop.
