Kashi Airport

Kashi Airport, also known as Kashgar Airport, opened in the 1950s and operates a single main passenger terminal that handles most domestic traffic; modest expansions in recent years have boosted capacity while keeping the facility compact and easy to navigate. As a medium-sized regional gateway in Xinjiang, it links Kashgar to major Chinese cities and seasonal routes to Central Asia, with regular services from carriers such as Air China, China Southern and China Eastern rather than functioning as a large international hub. The airport sits roughly 10–15 km from downtown Kashgar and is reachable by shuttle bus, taxis and road connections; fares on regional routes are often affordable compared with China’s bigger hubs, making it a practical choice for budget-conscious travelers.
