Kalamata Airport

Kalamata Airport (KLX), opened in the late 1950s, is a compact international gateway to the Peloponnese serving Messinia and the Mani coast from a single small terminal. As the region’s primary airport it handles a mix of domestic services and seasonal international charters, making it an important entry point for summer beach and cultural travel. The airport sits a short drive north of Kalamata city and is well connected by road with taxis, rental cars and regular summer shuttle/bus services to nearby resorts. Generally budget-friendly thanks to seasonal low-cost routes, KLX is not a major airline hub but sees operations from Greek carriers and low-cost airlines on a seasonal basis.
