Opened in 1947, Jorge Newbery Airport (Aeroparque) is Buenos Aires’ compact, centrally located airport with a single main terminal handling mostly domestic and regional flights. As one of Argentina’s busiest hubs for internal travel, it offers quick connections to cities across the country and nearby capitals in Uruguay and southern Brazil. Situated on the city’s riverfront just minutes from downtown Palermo and Puerto Madero, Aeroparque is well served by taxis, ride‑share, multiple bus routes and easy shuttle transfers to Ezeiza; there’s no direct subway link but public buses connect to subway lines. Generally seen as affordable for travelers thanks to frequent low‑cost domestic options, the airport is a primary base for Aerolíneas Argentinas and its regional subsidiary Austral, alongside several smaller regional carriers.
