Jericoacoara Airport (IATA: JJD) was inaugurated in 2017 and operates from a single small terminal that handles seasonal regional traffic to one of Brazil’s most famous beach destinations. Located near Cruz, about 30–35 km from Jericoacoara village, the airport is a compact, tourism-focused gateway with regular connections by shuttle vans and 4x4 transfers across sandy tracks (transfers typically take 40–60 minutes); public transport is limited, so pre-booked transfers or car hires are common. JJD is not a major airline hub but is served by carriers such as Azul, Gol and LATAM on regional routes. Because capacity is limited and demand spikes in high season, fares to JJD tend to be pricier than average, though off-peak tickets can be reasonable for budget travelers.
