Francisco Carle (Jauja) Airport, opened in the mid-20th century, is a compact regional airport with a single terminal that serves as a practical gateway to Peru’s central highlands. Small but strategically important, it handles regular flights to Lima and nearby cities, linking Jauja and Huancayo with national carriers such as LATAM and Sky Airline and smaller regional operators. Ground connections are straightforward—taxis, colectivos and bus services provide about a 45-minute drive to Huancayo and onward links by road to the rest of Junín. Generally considered affordable for travelers, Jauja is a budget-friendly option for quick access to the Andes, though fares can rise during peak holiday periods.
