Helsinki-Vantaa Airport opened in 1952 and today operates with two main passenger terminals (T1 and T2), serving as Finland’s busiest international gateway and a key Nordic hub for traffic between Europe and Asia. Located in Vantaa about 17 km north of central Helsinki, the airport is well connected by the Ring Rail Line (I and P trains), frequent regional buses and taxis, making transfers to the city center roughly 30–40 minutes. Known for efficient transfers and seasonal long-haul links, Helsinki-Vantaa is a primary hub for Finnair and a base for several regional carriers; on-site shops and dining tend to be mid-to-high priced, though flight deals are often available.
