Haugesund Airport on Karmøy opened in 1975 and operates from a single compact terminal, serving as a small-to-medium regional gateway for western Norway and the North Sea oil sector. Located roughly 15 minutes’ drive from Haugesund city centre, it is linked by scheduled airport coaches, taxis, car rental and good road access to the E39, making connections to nearby towns straightforward. The airport handles a mix of domestic and some international routes with around one million passengers annually and is generally mid-priced with competitive fares on low-cost routes. It functions as a base for regional carrier Widerøe and sees regular services from SAS and Norwegian.
