Gran Canaria Airport

Gran Canaria Airport, serving the island’s capital and popular southern resorts, opened in the 1940s and today operates from two passenger terminals that handle millions of travelers each year; it’s the main gateway for the Canary Islands and one of Spain’s busier regional airports. Located roughly 18 km south of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and close to Telde, the airport is well connected by regular bus services, taxis, car hire and the GC-1 motorway for quick access to Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés. Generally affordable thanks to many low-cost European routes, LPA is a base for regional carriers such as Binter Canarias and Canaryfly while major leisure airlines also run frequent services.
