Golden Triangle Regional Airport opened in the early 1970s and operates from a single, compact terminal that serves the Columbus–Starkville–West Point area of northeast Mississippi. As the region’s primary commercial gateway, GTR handles a modest number of daily regional flights and connections to larger hubs, making it an efficient option for travelers headed to Mississippi State University or business centers in Columbus. Ground access is straightforward with rental cars, taxis, limited shuttle services and short drives to nearby cities, and fares tend to be reasonably affordable compared with larger hubs. The airport hosts regular regional carrier service (American Eagle and Delta Connection regional partners are common providers) rather than large airline hubs, making it a convenient choice for finding cheap flights to the Golden Triangle.
