Opened in 1966, Glasgow International is Scotland’s second‑largest airport, located about 8 km (5 miles) west of the city centre near Paisley and operating from one main terminal with two concourses. The airport handles a mix of domestic, European and holiday flights, and is an important gateway for both business and leisure travellers. It’s easily reached via the M8 motorway, the frequent Glasgow Airport Express bus and quick taxi rides to central Glasgow; there’s no direct rail station on site but Paisley Gilmour Street is a short transfer away. With strong low‑cost carrier competition and bases for Loganair plus focus‑city operations from easyJet and TUI, fares are generally competitive and affordable compared with many UK airports.
