Frankfurt Airport (FRA), opened in 1936, is Germany’s largest international gateway with two main passenger terminals (Terminals 1 and 2) and an ongoing Terminal 3 expansion, serving as a major European hub. The airport is a primary hub for Lufthansa and a significant base for Condor and Eurowings, handling a high volume of long-haul and connecting flights. Well connected to central Frankfurt by S-Bahn (S8/S9) and a long-distance ICE rail station, plus frequent buses, taxis and direct Autobahn links, FRA offers fast city access. Prices at shops and services tend to be moderately high, though flight fares are competitive on major routes.
