Fernando de Noronha Airport (FEN), opened in the 1940s, is a compact, single‑terminal regional airport that serves as the main gateway to Brazil’s protected Fernando de Noronha archipelago. Though small in size, it plays an outsized role in the island’s tourism economy, with daily connections to Recife and occasional links to Natal and other mainland hubs. Ground access is simple—a short drive or taxi ride to Vila dos Remédios with limited shuttle and rental-car options—while strict visitor quotas and island fees mean flights are often pricier than mainland routes. Carriers such as Azul, LATAM and Gol operate the island’s scheduled services, but FEN is not a major airline hub.
