Despite its modest size, it’s an important arrival point for pilgrims visiting Ayodhya’s temples and a convenient alternative to larger hubs. Ground connections are straightforward: taxis, app-based cabs and regional buses link the airport to Ayodhya city center and to Lucknow (around 130 km), with good road access for onward travel. Typically more budget-friendly than big metro airports, Faizabad hosts regional and domestic carriers rather than serving as a major airline hub, and has been included in recent upgrade plans to expand capacity.
