Eldoret Airport

Eldoret Airport (EDL), officially Eldoret International Airport, dates back to the mid-20th century and was upgraded to international status in the 1990s; it operates a single passenger terminal alongside active cargo facilities that handle Kenya’s flower and produce exports. As the main gateway to western Kenya and the Rift Valley, EDL is a medium-sized regional airport with regular domestic links to Nairobi and seasonal or charter services to neighboring countries. It’s easily reached from Eldoret town by road (about a 10–20 minute drive via the A104) with taxis, shuttle buses and matatus available. Not a major hub, it’s served by Kenya Airways, Jambojet and regional carriers like Fly540 and Safarilink, and is generally considered an affordable option for domestic travelers.
