El Palomar Airport (EPA), originally established as a military airfield in the early 20th century and relaunched for commercial service in 2018, is a compact, budget-conscious gateway serving western Buenos Aires. With a single modest terminal handling mostly domestic low-cost flights, El Palomar is an important secondary airport for travelers seeking cheap flights into the metro area. It sits roughly 18 km west of downtown Buenos Aires and is easily reached by the nearby El Palomar train station on the Sarmiento line, regional buses, taxis and airport shuttles. Generally considered affordable, it has served as a base for low-cost carrier Flybondi and hosts occasional services from other budget airlines.
